Strips 1-12 (January 16, 1939 to January 28, 1939)
Krypton is dying, and the planet is wracked with massive earthquakes. Unable
to convince the planet to build an ark large enough to spare the entire race, Jor-L
and Lora decide to save their son Kal-L by sending him off into space.
