Strips 259-288 (November 13, 1939 to December 16, 1939)
The Metropolis D.A. launches a war on crime. As a result, the corrupt political
boss, "Big Mike" Hennessey, tries to pressure the D.A. into abandoning this
plan. Will Hennessey's political machine be broken, or will the D.A. cave to
his threats?
Note: The Daily Star is now called the Daily Planet. Plot ends with a war starting in Europe.
