Strips 5589-5636 (November 12, 1956 to January 5, 1957)
Clark Kent finds himself being followed by Detective-Sergeant Walsh, who had learned that a contract hit had been put out on Kent. Walsh leaves town with Clark for his safety, but Clark Kent gives him the slip by changing his appearance. However, while in the guise of "Joe Smith," Clark runs into a pair of movie scouts who had been scouring the country to find a Superman look-alike. He goes along with the ruse in order to keep hidden from the killers, but will Clark Kent be able to play a convincing Superman on film?
Note: Superman later refers to his identity as "Ed Smith."
